The MuseumsQuartier, a huge cultural area in the center of Vienna, originally built as the imperial court stables by baroque architect Johann Fischer von Erlach. The artists Tillman Kaiser and Sonia Leimer, both invited by MQ Vienna, have examined the specific conditions of the facade niches – 40 semicircular niches structure the 355-meter-long facade. Both have developed sculpture projects for three niches each, which refer to the baroque architecture in form and content. I have documented those installations for MQ Vienna.
