The list of famous writers who have left their mark in certain places in Lower Austria is impressive. Their presence is commemorated in many places: in the houses where they were born, died, or vacationed, where they wrote or took a spa treatment. In “Hier ist Literatur!” we are invited by well-known Austrian authors of the present to take a highly subjective journey into the past and explore the most important places of literary creation. The travel reports on the places of remembrance are themselves deeply literary approaches to the ghostly presence of great literature in Lower Austria and highly vivid representations of a cultural heritage that proves itself in this text and picture volume to be “ready to be visited at any time” (H. v. Doderer). Follow the trail!
