The ‘Hitler-Balkon’ for DIE ZEIT

ZEIT_Altan der Neuen Burg-007

The ‘Altan der Neuen Burg’ at Heldenplatz Vienna is the balcony where Hitler declared the ‘Anschluss’ to Germany on March 15th, 1938 to some 200.000 cheering people. That’s why this place is still called  ‘Hitler-Balkon’, it is closed for the public and there’s no real clue what to do with it – to leave it like it is or to open it with a contextualization.

I have done some images for a story about the balcony for Die ZEIT.
