The MuseumsQuartier in Vienna, which is hosting a variety of museums, initiatives, studios etc., has started an initiative called ‘MQ goes Green’. In this project, it is planned to adapt the huge yards for the increasingly hot summer temperatures by establishing islands of plants and trees. In the first year, those islands have been installed on the plaster of the yards to monitor if the location and the choice of plants is working. In the following years, the plants and trees will get rooted in the soil of the yards permanently.
